The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, had visited Novi Sad today, where he held a meeting with Mayor Milan Đurić and the Head of South Bačka Administrative District, Milan Novaković. At the meeting, good examples of the functioning of Novi Sad and projects that are at the implementation stage, the functioning of inspection services, as well as the introduction of the latest State software solution eOffice, have been discussed.
On that occasion, the minister handed over laptops to the city administration as a form of support for the development and functioning of e-administration in Novi Sad.
Martinović has pointed out that the establishment of the eOffice is a great achievement and an excellent project implemented by the State, and that since 1 September, all public administration bodies have been networked with it, which means that the work of the administration, as well as of the inspection services, will be more transparent. He added that the introduction of this software is a big step forward in the digitization of our overall public administration, and recalled that we currently have more than two million so-called eCitizens.
Speaking about the issues of insufficient number of inspectors and their salaries, the minister expressed his belief that these shall be overcome by the drafting of the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Inspection Supervision, on which the MDULS and other ministries are intensively working.
Martinović emphasized that Novi Sad, in addition to Belgrade, is an example of the overall prosperity that Serbia has recorded in the past 10 years, primarily thanks to the wise policy implemented by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.
During his stay in Novi Sad, the minister also visited the building of the South Bačka Administrative District, where he talked with the representatives of the district and donated laptops as a form of support for faster and better work.
“The South Bačka Administrative District is truly one of the most efficient districts, with a very agile head who is dedicated to all current topics of importance for the citizens of cities and municipalities in the territory of the entire district. Given the way it functions, I can say that the South Bačka Administrative District represents the best example of a district as a good link between the Local Self-Government Units and the State,” Martinović has concluded.
