STATE SECRETARY OF MDULS MACUŽIĆ PUZIĆ AT THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON DEVELOPMENT TRENDS IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT

“The bearers of all reform processes are the people, employees at the administration, without whose professional and responsible efforts we would not have been able to overcome the problems encountered by the public administration. Therefore, the challenge which lies before us consists in creating a better environment for their work in the coming period, but also in strengthening their knowledge and skills”, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Maja Mačužić Puzić, has said at the opening of the two-day regional conference “Digitization and promotion of public administration as desirable employer and other development trends in human resource management”.

She has added that the development of capacities and strategic management of human resources, along with digitization and improvement in the field of service provision, represents a key link on the path to building a professional, modern and strong administration, which is dedicated to the realization of the interests of citizens and the economy.

As she has stated, the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic have continuously posed new challenges to the public administration and local self-government, while MDULS had managed to develop, in such specific conditions, a new strategic framework for the Public Administration Reform, which also includes the improvements in the field of human resource management among the ten-year priorities.

Mačužić Puzić has emphasized that the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry shall remain committed to building the capacities of the civil service system, together with the Human Resources Management Service (HRMS) and the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA).

The two-day regional conference is organized by HRMS, in cooperation with the German Hanns Seidel Foundation, with the aim of providing further support for the improvement and modernization of human resource management in public administrations, as a key resource of PAR, through the presentation of good examples from practice and the exchange of opinions and experiences of experts from the region. On the second day of the conference, the assistant ministers Ivana Savićević and Jasmina Benmansur shall present new initiatives of MDULS in the field of human resource management in public administration.
