THE PRIMARY SCHOOL IN BAČINCI TO GET A FUNCTIONAL SCHOOL GYM AND A NEW ROOF WITH THE SUPPORT OF MDULS

After almost six decades, with the financial support of the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, the Primary School “Branko Radičević” in Bačinci, which has not been renovated since its construction in 1964, is finally being rehabilitated. MDULS had allocated RSD 25 million from this year’s Budget Fund for the adaptation and rehabilitation of the school gym at this educational facility, whereby part of these funds is intended for the replacement of the complete roof covering, which was significantly damaged due to the storm that hit Serbia in July of this year. Today, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has visited the school in Šid.

“Thanks to another project aimed at the students of this region, we aim to solve the long-standing problems at this primary school in Bačinci, which are related to inadequate conditions for holding physical education classes. The deadline for the completion of the works is the end of October this year, which means that the students will very soon get a new, modern school gym, which has not been functional for the last four years. This is extremely important for these children, because in this way we provide them with conditions for healthy and high-quality development”, Martinović has said and added that the Government of the Republic of Serbia continuously encourages and implements the policy of investing into future generations.

Emphasizing that Šid is one of the municipalities that was severely affected by flash floods, Martinović has pointed out that MDULS is helping to replace the roof covering of the primary school in Bačinci, while the damaged carpentry was replaced thanks to the financial support of the Provincial Government. He praised the local leadership for repairing all damage caused by floods to public and private facilities in record time, which, as he has said, is another proof that this municipality cares for its citizens and works in their best interest.

Martinović has also visited the Art Gallery “Sava Šumanović” and the Museum of Naive Art “Ilijanum”, which are included in the project “Šid – a Safe City”. MDULS had provided significant funds for this project, primarily with the aim of protecting cultural assets, but also for increasing the level of safety of all citizens in this municipality.

“Šid is the city of Sava Šumanović, one of our greatest visual artists, to whom we owe a great responsibility. This local self-government has proven to be a very responsible municipality which fulfils all its obligations and properly uses the funds invested by the state and provincial institutions, taking into account the needs of its citizens. The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government will continue to successfully cooperate with the Municipality of Šid and invest in its development, because it has proven that it can give back in the best possible way,” Martinović has concluded.

The minister used today’s visit to donate laptops to the municipal administration as a form of support for the development and functioning of electronic administration in Šid, and he had also visited the agricultural farm of Rakić Branimir in Bačinci, which has been involved in meat processing, animal husbandry and farming for many years.
