THE START OF ACTIVITIES ON PROJECTS FINANCED FROM THE FUND FOR FUNCTIONAL-ORGANIZATIONAL MODELS MARKED

The Assistant Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government in the Sector for Registers and Local Self-Government, Marina Dražić, and Head of Cabinet, Anja Javor, have solemnly opened the event marking the beginning of activities on projects financed from the Fund for Functional-Organizational Models, under the project “Local Self-Government for the 21st Century”.

The Head of Cabinet, Anja Javor, has emphasized that the implementation of these projects shall improve the organization and efficiency of the work of city and municipal administrations in Loznica, Leskovac, Mali Zvornik and Raška, as selected local self-governments. As she said, it is even more important that the quality of services provided to the citizens and the economy, which are the focus of the overall Public Administration Reform, will be raised in this way.

Pointing out that the aforementioned cities and municipalities will be provided with technical and advisory support in the preparation and implementation of project activities, Javor has said that this will require full commitment of local self-governments and the Working Groups formed for that purpose.

As a reminder, in May of this year, the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, had signed Agreements with the representatives of the Cities of Loznica and Leskovac and the Municipalities of Mali Zvornik and Raška on the allocation of more than CHF 82 thousand from the Fund for Functional-Organizational Models, in order to further modernize the work of selected local self-governments.

The aforementioned Fund was established, in cooperation with the Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, under the project “Local Self-Government for the 21st Century”, which is supported by the Swiss Government. In the previous cycle, with nearly CHF 50,000, four projects were supported in the Municipalities of Golubac, Knjaževac and Bela Palanka and the City of Novi Pazar.
