THE STATE INVESTED MORE THAN RSD 150 MILLION THROUGH MDULS INTO THE DEVELOPMENT OF PETROVAC NA MLAVI OVER THE PAST YEARS

“The State has invested significant funds in the development of Petrovac na Mlavi, whereby the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government alone, during the previous years, supported the implementation of various important projects in this municipality with more than RSD 150 million. Some of those projects are precisely the construction of a children’s playground and the renovation of the kitchen and laundry room of the Preschool Institution “Galeb”, which is our modest contribution to the policy implemented by the State with the aim of having as many children as possible, and providing them with the best possible conditions for residence and education in institutions which take care of their growth and development,” the Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Aleksandar Martinović, PhD, has said during his visit to the Municipality of Petrovac na Mlavi and tour of PI “Galeb”.

Martinović has pointed out that investing in children means investing in the future, but also that our country is facing a negative rate of natural increase, and that there has been a trend of population outflow for decades in Petrovac na Mlavi, with its residents going abroad for temporary work. He added that Petrovac na Mlavi is one of those municipalities which require the help of the State for their further development and progress.

“Thanks to the enthusiasm and energy of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, we have done a lot in the past few years. All this will not make much sense if there is no one to succeed us. The task of all of us is to have as many children as possible, and to try, by our joint efforts, to return at least part of our population from abroad to our homeland. The president of the municipality, Duško Nedinić, and his colleagues have informed me that the local self-government lacks at least one manufacturing investment. I am convinced that, through joint effort and work, we will succeed in achieving this goal, which will indeed be of great importance for the citizens, as well as for the development of this municipality,” Martinović has said.

He added that this year, the Ministry allocated funds from the budget for the establishment of a One-Stop-Shop in Petrovac na Mlavi, and expressed the possibility that next year the Ministry will finance the rehabilitation of the hall where the sessions of the municipal council would be held.

“The existence of the OSS greatly expedites the administrative procedure and saves time for citizens, while facilitating the work of civil servants in local administration. The State of Serbia, together with Local Self-Government Units and its citizens, has proven that it has the capacity to follow trends in the field of information technologies, which is indicated, among other things, by the fact that we currently have around 2 million of the so-called ‘eCitizens’. The Republic of Serbia is making great strides forward on its path to digitizing its public administration,” Martinović has concluded.

During his visit to Petrovac na Mlavi, the minister has visited the finishing works on the rehabilitation of the façade of the municipal administration building, which was also aided by MDULS with significant funds, as well as the assembly hall where the e-Parliament system was implemented.
