The Assistant Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and Head of the Sector for Human Resource Management, Ivana Savićević, has welcomed the commencement with the trainings for Senior Civil Servants, which are intended to improve both their professional development and the progress of the systems they manage.
At the opening of the inaugural conference of the Project “Strengthening the Professional Capacities of Civil Servants in the Republic of Serbia” organized at the National Academy for Public Administration, which is implemented with EU financial support and at which the implementation of the Training Programme for Senior Civil Servants has been announced, she has stressed that this Programme represents a step forward in the effort to strengthen this category of civil servants, as well as to contribute to the sustainability and continuity of professional management through their systematic professional development.
Savićević has recalled the research in respect of educational needs, which was conducted by SIGMA three years ago, and whose results have shown that, in the process of creating trainings for Senior Civil Servants, it is extremely important to balance the available time and training methods and the nature of work performed by Senior Civil Servants. .
She welcomed the financial support provided by the European Union to this project, because the trainings require stable sources of funding in order to achieve their continuity, but also sustainability. Savićević has invited all institutions to build such a system of public administration that will be recognized as a brand, i.e. a system that warrants knowledge, expertise and experience. She has invited Senior Civil Servants to be the initiators of improvement and changes in the parts of the system they manage, and to improve the quality of work of the institutions in which they work by investing in their knowledge and skills.
