The Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Marija Obradović, and the Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government of the Republic of Srpska, Senka Jujić, talked about intensifying the collaboration between the two ministries in Belgrade today. The meeting followed the joint session of the governments of the Republic of Serbia and the Republika Srpska, held in East Sarajevo in May this year, the recent celebration of the joint holiday of the Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag Day and yesterday’s opening ceremony of the “Days of Srpska in Serbia”.
On this occasion, Obradović and Jujić emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences, knowledge and best practice in the preparation and implementation of activities towards achieving the objectives set forth by the Memorandum of Cooperation, to be carried out by a joint working group formed after the session of the two governments in East Sarajevo.
“The well-being of all citizens of Serbia and Srpska and their satisfaction with the quality of life in local communities and the services provided by the public administration, are the only indicators of our success and the objective we should jointly strive to,” said Minister Obradovic at the meeting, adding that the collaboration is also essential for the PAR implementation.
The discussion also tackled specific activities of the relevant sectors of the two ministries in the areas of human resources management, professional development, inter-municipal cooperation, inspection, EU integration and international cooperation and projects in keeping with the Draft Action Plan for the implementation of the Memorandum for 2021-2022.
“Our continuous and proactive communication is a symbol of the natural connection between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska and the joint effort to strengthen the ties of our people on both sides of the Drina.” Our common goal and obligation should be to improve the living standard and ensure that the citizens stay and continue their living in Serbia and Srpska,” said Minister Jujić.
The parties also exchanged views on the improvement of gender equality in their communities, agreeing that some progress has been made in this area, but that in the future it is necessary to increase the percentage of women in decision-making positions and provide further empowerment of women to take part in politics.
