“Project management in public administration, as a modern management discipline, is a new concept of governance aimed at achieving the projected results in the most efficient, timely and cost-effective manner, assuming that we have previously mastered the techniques that would allow us to initiate, plan, prepare, decide on, organize, guide, manage, control and coordinate various activities within the project process “, said Jasmina Benmansur, Assistant Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government and the Head of the Sector for Professional Development, at the 25th International Congress on Project Management.
To this end, she emphasized the natural connection between the Project Management and Human Resources Management, because the key to every success are the people and their knowledge, skills and competencies, which is why it is essential to provide advanced conditions for professional development to all employees in our public administration.
“It is vital that we provide the capacities that can support all the needs of employees striving to improve and develop their personal and professional competencies in performing their duties and tasks, planning and implementing public policies and participating in the complex reform processes,” Benmansur said.
She also reiterated that the comprehensive professional development reform had been carried out in the Serbian PA in previous years, that resulted, among other, in the establishment of the National Academy of Public Administration that offers a large number of trainings to civil servants and employees in local self-government units.
The International Congress “Responsible and Resilient Project Management”, organized by the Serbian Project Management Association (IPMA Serbia), from 9 to 11 September with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences to improve and advance the project management at the local, regional and international level.
The focus of the congress will be the Project Management in the Public Sector, Women in Project Management, Project Management in Health Care, Green Project Management and Establishment of a Project Management Unit.
